The Park, Pre-Vaiden!

My sweet friend, Christina, is pregnant with her second BOY (baby Vaiden). She is having a section June 10. We decided to take the kids to the park today before the big event. She is such a great friend to me and she loves my children as if they were hers. (I feel every time we get together she is probably leaving saying she is GLAD those aren't her kids :)! I didn't pack a lunch for my boys because they ate a late breakfast, but of course when they saw the goodies Ms. Christina brought, they immediately became famished! She is so sweet - she shared a PB&J, chips, cookies, and best of all, kool-aid koolers with my boys!! I am so blessed!! Enjoy the pics. By the way, her almost-six-year-old is named Tripp :)!

Will's Last Day at Pinelake

Last Friday was Will's last school day. He had such a great year! I can't believe how much he has "grown-up" this year. Even though he has matured a lot this year, we are still holding him back next year. He will be in K-3 again at Covenant in Jackson. We had a great experience with Pinelake, but feel he needs to go to school 5 days a week. Enjoy the pics!

Baptism Sunday

"Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it."
Proverbs 22:6

Ann Phelps was baptized today. Many people don't understand infant baptism. We (Presbyterians) don't believe the act of baptism saves a child, we view it as a promise we are making to God. We are promising to raise this precious gift (child) God has so graciously given to us in a way that will bring glory to Him. One of the 3 promises we made during the service is this:
"do you now unreservedly dedicate your child to God, and promise, in humble reliance upon divine grace, that you will endeavor to set before her a godly example, that you will pray with and for her, that you will teach her the doctrines of our holy religion, and that you will strive, by all the means of God's appointment, to bring her up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord?"

Wow, what a huge responsibility as a parent!! Thankfully God gives us grace!!! We feel so blessed and honored God has given us THREE to raise in this manner! Please pray for us as we do this.

Camping Trip

OK, we didn't go on a "real" camping trip, but a pretend one. Will saw Dora go on a camping trip and wanted the same experience (thank goodness he has an imagination)! I set up the tent in the living room and the boys went on a camping trip. I set up two tents because Ben wanted to pretend he was Godzilla destroying Will's tent :)! Will looked at me and said, "Mom, where do we get the fire and marshmallows?" Despite having to pretend there was a fire and marshmallows, we all had fun!

Field Trip

Last Monday, Will's class went on a field trip to the zoo. I have to say it was very peaceful. I think we were the only school there. It is always fun for me to get to spend one-on-one time with my kids. After the trip, I let Will choose where he wanted to eat. He told me he was taking me on a date to Cheddar's (a restaurant at Dogwood). What an imagination he has!!

New Sandbox

Last weekend Rhyne (with the help of his parents) re-sodded the yard and shaped the flower beds. So the boys spent the whole day outside. We bought them a sandbox so they could dig and haul the sand with their trucks (mighty machines, as Will calls them). Of course, Ben had to taste the sand (which he didn't like) and Will had to throw the sand (which ended up in his eyes). But overall I think they had fun. It has been so much fun seeing them actually starting to play together! By the way, Ben wore his "work gloves" all day, he didn't want to take them off!!
