Memorial Day Weekend

This past weekend (like the last 5 weekends) was spent in the Delta. Friday night we had a party for Justin and Eleanor in Greenwood and I attended a bridal luncheon Saturday for Eleanor. My boys stayed with Rhyne at his parents' house in Carrollton. We also celebrated two birthdays - Mr. Martin (Rhyne's dad) and my Daddy both had birthdays this past week. Here are some pictures from the weekend. Will now has a four-leeler (wheeler -that's how he pronounces it) at every location: our house, my parents', and Rhyne's parents'. I love watching Will and Ben play in the water Sunday. I was very surprised that Ben liked it so much. He laughed everytime the water would squirt him in the face!

Plug it in

As I posted a few months ago, Will loves vacuum cleaners! When we bought him a child's vacuum (that looks like the real thing), he was upset it didn't have a cord. We made a cord from yellow rope. He "plugs" the vacuum in the couch cusions, under heavy toys, he has even wrapped the cord around the changing table legs. Here is a picture of his latest way to "plug" his vacuum in. It amazes me how inventive (is that a word?) he is!

Mother's Day

I had a great Mother's Day! Will came running in the bedroom with my card and he said, "Happy Mother's Day, look what Santa Clause left you!", how sweet! Every Mother's Day I celebrate, I also remember the five I went through heartbroken. At one point, I thought I would never be able to celebrate being a mother. God has perfect timing and has so graciously given me two special boys! I try not to take a moment for granted! I also had a very tender moment with Will late yesterday afternoon. It was just him and me outside and he began to shake this "baby" maple tree we have in the front yard. We planted this tree about two years ago in memory of the twins - Matthew and Harris. I took this opportunity to explain to him that we don't want to destroy this tree because it is special. I told him about his brothers in Heaven and how we could remember them everytime we look at the tree. I wasn't sure if he was understanding anything I was telling him. Finally, he said, "I want to go to Heaven to see Matthew and Harris and God." My heart melted as I held back my tears. This was my best Mother's Day so far!
