Bitter Sweet

Two and a half years ago when Rhyne and I were going through the most difficult time in our life, we had a lot of tough decisions to make. At the young age of 26, I never thought I would have to plan a funeral for my children. Here I was still in the hospital recovering from an emergency c-section, going to visit my surviving baby in the NICU and having to plan a funeral for my twins. Only God's grace got me (and Rhyne) through it.
When it came time to pick the words that would forever be on the tombstone for our boys, we were at a loss for words. We wanted something special to be said, but what? The verse from "Jesus Loves Me" kept coming to mind. This song was special because it was sung at the funeral. The verse, "little ones to Him belong, they are weak, but He is strong" was chosen to go on the tombstone. My little ones were to weak to live, but they are forever with their Lord who is stronger than we can ever know!! Fast forward to now. At the time we chose this song, I didn't realize that one day Will would be learning this special song and wanting to sing it all the time. He loves this song. He sings it everyday. He always wants me to join him. At first, I couldn't sing it without tearing up. I want Will to know how special this song will always be to this family. Not only is it a reminder of God's incredible love, but a reminder of my sweet angels in Heaven.

Oh Beth! What a wonderful tribute to our great Lord and Savior and His mercy that you can praise Him so much after so much heartache. It will be amazing to spend eternity with our children!!!! Will and Ben are precious, hopefully they and Allie and Mary Elliott will grow up with great 'cabin' memories!!
